Julian, 15, is a freshman and made it onto Edwardsville High’s varsity track team. Max, 12, just began running at Liberty Middle School and had one of the fastest times for a 6th grader in the 400m. Both look to Joe for support and stories about his own track stories when he ran at Franklin Field in Pennsylvania. For the past three years, Joe gave the boys an opportunity to beat him in the 100m. He went undefeated. But when Joe turned 40 years old last year, he went through a few highs and lows. Now, he’s set a series of goals to achieve in his last six months of age 40. One is to participate in the GAMES. The other is to allow his boys to see what they’ve never seen before: their dad competing in a track meet. Thus, the journey begins.
